Georgia Sutherland
(1920 – 2010)
Georgia Belle Sutherland of Cottonwood, Arizona, died on November 9,
2010.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 19, 1920.
Georgia married John L. Sutherland on March 22, 1941. They moved from
Chicago to Lindenhurst, Illinois in 1955 and remained in their home
there until December of 2004, when they moved to Cottonwood, Arizona.
In addition to being a homemaker, Georgia periodically worked as a
retail clerk at various clothing and department stores and sold
cosmetics and jewelry at home parties.
She was known for her cheerful, positive nature, and for her love of
gardening, animals, and music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and is survived by a
son, Stanley (Dawn) Sutherland of Flagstaff, Arizona.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cottonwood Village and Hospice
Compassus for their loving attention to Georgia’s needs.
Donations in her memory may be made to First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, or to the American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in New York, NY.
