Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, November 24, 2010 Leo A. Villegas, beloved father, grandpa, brother, tío and friend, peacefully entered Eternal Life on Nov. 17, 2010 at The Odyssey Healthcare Inc. in Mesa, Ariz. He was surrounded by his family who loves him. He was born in Globe, Ariz. on Dec. 2, 1925. Leo proudly served his Country as a United States Marine and was a World War II Veteran. After leaving the service he was hired at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company where he worked for 40 years and retired. He was an active member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church where he cleaned every Thursday for many years. He was an adamant giver to life by giving blood and always had a helping hand. He loved to be outdoors building and keeping active. He loved to grow chili and tomato plants in his garden which he tended every day. Leo also loved to watch TV game shows with a passion. He enjoyed going to the casinos all over Arizona and in Las Vegas, Nev. and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. “Dad you will truly be missed but never forgotten.” He is survived by five children, Barbara Olguin of New Mexico, Leo F. Villegas of Globe, Margaret (Mike) Erickson of Globe, Evelyn (Art Kaderly) Villegas of Phoenix, Steven (Cassandra) Villegas of Globe, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Sally Martinez of Globe. Leo was preceded in death by his wife; Martha F. Villegas, mother, Amada Villegas; father, Jose Villegas; six brothers, Martin, Tony, Jose “Cheppa,” Santos, David Barragon, and Joe Barragon; and two sisters, Aurora Villegas Perez and Clara Mejia. Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 starting with the visitation at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Mass at 10 a.m. at the Holy Angels Catholic Church 201 S. Broad Street, followed by interment at the Globe Cemetery. Assisting the family is Miles Funeral Services.
