Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, March 12, 2008 Lester Lee Hallford June 4, 1931 – March 11, 2008 Lester Lee Hallford Sr., 76, passed away tuesday in Lake Havasu City. He was born June 4, 1931, in Yeager, Muscogee County, Okla., the son of Joe and Ada Hallford. He was the 15th child out of 16. Lester served in the United States Navy and was also a life-long member in the Local 428 Operator Union. He moved to Lake Havasu City about 16 years ago and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed boating water skiing and loved to dance. Lester was a great cook. Lester is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughters, Kathy Smith and Tammy McCoy, of Flagstaff; stepson, Michael Mathis Hallford, of Mesa; brother, Berman Hallford, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Jay, Amanda, Guy, Heath and Tanya, of Flagstaff; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ada; his son, Lester Lee Hallford and daughter, Rosie Beth Fry. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Rev. Richard Rounds. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Western Arizona Humane Society, 1100 Empire Dr., Lake Havasu City, AZ86404 in his four cats’ names, Misty, Ashley, Shadow and Angel.
