Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, March 4, 2008 Joseph Andrew Groncki, 71, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in Santa Ana, Calif. He was born Feb. 4, 1937, in South River, N.J. For over 20 years he was known as “Joe the Mailman” in South Amboy, N.J. For a change of pace he moved to Las Vegas, Nev., then to Los Angeles where Joe worked for the Los Angeles Post Office as a letter carrier until he retired in 1995. After retirement he moved to Lake Havasu City and to keep busy worked part-time at the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center and at the local casino. His great sense of humor and happy go lucky attitude stayed with him all of his life. Joseph leaves behind his loving daughter, Kathy (Mike) Britt, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a grandson, Michael, who is currently serving in the U.S. Army in Ft. Benning, Ga.; a granddaughter, Jennifer (John) Cashman, Yucaipa, Calif.; a great-grandson, Timothy Joseph Cashman, of Yucaipa; his brothers, Robert, of Sante Fe Springs and Chester, of Sayreville, N.J.; and his sister, Marcy Larson, of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will take place at Pope John Paul II Polish Center Church located at 3999 Rose Drive, Yorba Linda, on Friday, at 11 a.m. There will also be a Memorial at the American Legion Post 81, 181 Paseo Del Sol, Lake Havasu City, where Joseph was a member, on Thursday, at 11 a.m. He will be deeply missed in our hearts and our lives.
