William “Bill” R. Bratzler, husband of Marian “Rusty” Bratzler, began his final journey on Feb. 15, 2008. He was born on Dec. 31, 1928.
He lived his life as a cowboy, plain and simple. As he grew older, he retired from the Colorado Livestock Inspection Department, where he spent 25 years as a brand inspector. In retirement, Bill and Rusty traveled extensively as they participated in rodeos all over the country, as members of the National Sr. Pro Rodeo Association.
Bill learned to play golf and loved the game. He belonged to the London Bridge Men’s Club for nine years and was an Elks member for 35 years. He was also a life member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict.
His family was the joy of his life. He and Rusty were the parents of four children. Teresa, Kevin and Linda survive him as well as their spouses. A son, Jim, preceded him in death in 1989. Surviving also, are four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends.
At Bill’s request, there will be no services.
Remembrance contributions may be made in Bill’s name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86405 or the charity of your choice.
