Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, February 12, 2008 Shirley Colleen Simpkins Brown passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev. Shirley was born on Jan. 24, 1931, in Rose Will, Iowa to William and Blanche Simpkins. Shirley was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandma, mother-in-law and a true friend to all that knew her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanche Simpkins; sisters, Eleanor Simpkins Robbins and Barbara Simpkins DeWitt; and her brother, Donald Simpkins. Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Brown; Linda Lacy (Don), Michael Brown (Jan); grand children, Tyler Brown, Kazalynn Brown, Brain Lacy; sisters, Beverly McVan, Katherine Graham, Lois Rhiehart; brothers, Ike Simpkins, Robert Simpkins, Richard Simpkins and Max Simpkins. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory.
