Thear “Mac” Fraley, 92, of Boise, Idaho, formerly a long time resident of Lake Havasu, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in a Boise care center of natural causes. Mac was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Elliott County, Ken., the son of Marvin and Elizabeth Gaylion Fraley.
He was raised and educated in Kentucky. Thear served in the United States Army prior to the outbreak of WWII. He was stationed in Hawaii. He married Augustus (Gussie) Hacker in Ohio and she died during childbirth.
After that he moved to Texas and while there he met Edith Meek. They were married in Sherman, Texas July 2, 1937. They developed and operated a large dairy in Sherman, they also raised three children there. He moved to Lake Havasu after he retired and it was there he met Mary Piazzala and in 1975 they were married in Yuma. He lived in Lake Havasu until his wife died about five years ago at which time he moved to Boise to be close to his daughter and family.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was a charter member of the Good Sam Club of Lake Havasu.
Mac is survived by his sister, Wanda Green, of Villa Rica, Ga.; two sons, James (Margaret) Fraley, of Woodstock Ga., and Paul Fraley, of Sylvania Ohio; one daughter, Joanne (Gerald) Conrad, of Meridian, Idaho; his grandchildren, Kirk and Meagan, of Woodstock, Ga., John and Elizabeth, of Sylvania, Ohio, Nancie (Gary) Lannon, of Boise, Idaho, Calleen (Bill) Antilla of Richland, Wash., and Rick (Leah) Conrad, of Eagle, Idaho; his great grandchildren, Phillip and Amanda Antilla, Mark and Amber Lannon, Madison Riley, and Kaleah Conrad; stepdaughters, Irene Castillo and Shirley York. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence, Ezra, Herald, Haratio, Marvin Jr., and Ralph; sisters, Ruth and Esther; and a grandson, Jaime Fraley.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 10 a.m., at The Heights Church, in Eagle, Idaho, Rev. Mike Maudlin will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Chapel.
