Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, February 7, 2008 June 17, 1908 - Feb. 6, 2008 Maybelle Dorothy Shubert, 99, passed away Wednesday in Lake Havasu City. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Lillie (Svaboda) Latimer. Maybelle was a pioneer, coming to Lake Havasu City on a McCulloch flight in 1967. She moved here in 1968 from Parma, Ohio. Maybelle worked in the cafeteria for the Parma Ohio School System for seven years. She was a member of two bridge clubs, the Eastern Star, Young at Heart Chorus, St. Michaels United Methodist Church and was also an active member of the Senior Center. Maybelle is survived by her daughters, Eileen Hallisy Suzanne Hallisy, Barbara Hallisy; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Shubert. A memorial service will be held at the Masonic Temple on Monday at 6 p.m. Words of comfort and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Lyndon Mason. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be made in Maybelle’s name to the Senior Center, 450 S. Acoma Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86406.
