Yolanda K. Holligan, 87, died Dec. 21, 2007. Yolanda, known as Loli to her friends, was born Jan. 19, 1920.
She grew up and attended public school in McKeesport, Penn., where she was voted vice-president, and graduated valedictorian of her senior class. She later attended Westminster College and Penn State University.
On Sep. 3, 1940, she married Donald W. Holligan. They then moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where Loli worked for Standard Oil and later became a supervisor for the regional office of the Hartford Insurance Co. In 1970, Don and Loli moved to Lake Havasu City, where they started Holligan Construction Company. Loli handled all office responsibilities and interior design.
The Holligans were members of Community Presbyterian Church. At the time of Don's death in 2003, they had celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Loli was well known for her love of family and her incredible culinary and sewing talents.
Loli is survived by two daughters, Karen Holligan, of Lake Havasu City, and Kathy (Dan) Schneider, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren David (Alena) Holligan, Kristopher (Carolyn) Holligan, Ryan Schneider, and Dana Schneider; and a great-granddaughter, Kamerin Holligan.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations be made in Loli’s name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ. 86405.
