W. Warren ‘Punch’ Breakenridge, 91, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Lake Hills Inn after a short illness. Punch was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Dinsdale, Iowa, to W.J. and S. Edith (McMillan) Breakenridge.
He was a retired cattle feeder and grain farmer. Punch and his wife, Gloria, have spent the last 22 years wintering in Lake Havasu City and spent their summers in Reinbeck, Iowa.
Punch is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria; son, Scott (Judy) Breakenridge, of Hudson, Iowa; daughters, Judy Risk, of Palm Desert, Calif., Donna (Randy) Evenson, of Reinbeck, Jennifer Breakenridge, of University Park, Iowa, Susan O’Donnell, of Whitehouse Station, N.J., Peggy (Terry) Finzen, of Dysart, Iowa, and Penny (David) Gordon, of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Lois Gallagher, of Anaheim, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Mitchell; his parents; brothers, Max and Wallace; and a sister, Doris, who died in infancy.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at Community Presbyterian Church and 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd. Words of comfort and assurance will be offered by Rev. David Bybee.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Punch’s name can be made to the Community Presbyterian Church.
