Providence Grippie-Brown passed away Dec. 23, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born Oct. 4, 1916, to Sam and Louise Grippie in Youngstown, Ohio.
Providence married William Brown in 1950. She spent her life dedicated to raising her children. She attended Our Lady of Mt. Caramel Catholic Church in Ashtabula, Ohio. She loved playing bingo with her friends.
Providence is survived by her husband, William; her sons, John Vacca, of Las Vegas, Nev., Eugene (Vicki) Vacca, of Vero Beach, Fla., William (Linda) Brown, of Las Vegas, and Calvin Brown, of Las Vegas; her daughters, Jean (Basil) Emanuel, of Lake Havasu City, Irene (Keith) Carlson, of Canfield, Ohio, and Louise Santiago, of Ashtabula several 20 grandchildren, including Anthony (Dallas) Emanuel and Julie (Gary) Wrigley; and her brother, Ross Grippie, of California.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Ashtabula. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Providence's name to Odyssey Health Care of Las Vegas, 4011-A McLeod Dr., Las Vegas, NV.89121.
Arrangements will be handled by Dukrow Funeral Home in Ashtabula and burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
