Zelma Underwood, 79, who lived at 3006 W. Turney before moving to Encinitas, California, last year, died December 29, 1981, in Encinitas.  

Mrs. Underwood was born in Quebec, Tennessee, and came to Phoenix in 1944.  She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.  

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Dennis; a son, Harold; a sister; a brother; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Services at A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Services conducted by Mr. Edwin White in Chapel of Memories, A. L. Moore & Sons.  Interment East Resthaven.
