MASSEY, Michael (Marion) Lee

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona ~ November 17, 2010 Michael (Marion) Lee Massey of Peoria, Ariz., passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 11, 2010. Mike was born in Douglas, Ariz. on Sept. 22, 1934, and was raised in Miami, Ariz. Mike moved to Phoenix in 1964 and began his career at the Arizona Department of Revenue, where he held positions that included property appraiser, computer operations manager and systems analyst. In 1980 he went to work for Arizona Public Service Co., retiring in 1996 as a programmer analyst. He was a member of the BPO Elks for 55 years. Mike held dear to him the friends he made all his life, many of whom he had known since early childhood. They brought him great comfort in his last days. Mike is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Daniel (Beth); grandson, Adam; great-granddaughters, Chloe and Phoebe; sister, Diane (Tom) Huffman; niece, Kira Russo; nephew, Corey; and his many lifelong friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Lee and Hazel; daughter, Colleen; brother, Thomas, and wife, Lynda. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
