CULVER,
James Lee
James Lee Culver passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2004, with his wife Carol Sue at his side, after a lengthy battle with cancer. James was born in Tupelo, MS, October 1, 1947 to Loyce and Bill Culver.
James served in the U.S. Army, and was wounded while serving two tours in Viet Nam. He spent many years driving over the road in all states, and the travel seemed to be in his blood. After meeting Carol Sue in Phoenix in 1987, and their subsequent marriage in 1988, he lost the urge to wander and moved to Phoenix. He became involved in the waste industry, driving rolloff truck for a few hauling companies, before becoming a dispatcher in that industry.
A loving husband, father, and "papa", a loyal employee, and a good friend, James will be missed by many. James is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Carol Sue, daughter Jessica Patterson, of MS, stepsons, Keith, Kevin, & Kent Sutton of Phoenix, stepfather James Conwill, of MS, aunt & uncle Ruth & Glenn Payne, of MS, brothers Mark Conwill, TX, & Jimmy Dale Culver, MS., grandchildren, Brittany, Forrest, Daisy, Logan, Justin, Ashley, & Anderea.
Services are Friday, January 9, 2004, at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 East Southern Ave., Phoenix with internment to follow at East Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, January 8.
