Larry Michael Jones, 58, passed away on Jan. 4, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Larry was born in Kirkland, Washington to Lois and Rollie Jones.
He lived a great deal of his life in Idaho, where he was proud to have attended Mountain Home High School and Boise State College. He served 13 years active duty with the Air Force, a tour in Vietnam, and later as a helicopter pilot in the Army National Guard. He was a test pilot for Rocky Mountain Helicopter Co. before joining the FAA as an inspector, which he continued for a total of 30 years of government service. Larry is remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and his passion for golf.
Larry is survived by Jan, his wife of 31 years, and his children Allison and Christopher. Other family includes his brother, Terry Jones, sister, Jody Tribble, and father, Rollie.
A memorial service was held at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West on Saturday, Jan. 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. 2990 E. Northern Ave. E-100 Phoenix, AZ 85028.
