Elsie Nicoll Reed passed away at the Margaret T. Morris Center in Prescott, Ariz., on Nov. 24, 2010. She was 91 years old. Elsie was born on Sept. 5, 1919, in Mesa, Ariz. She was the daughter of Elsie and Alex Nicoll. Elsie graduated from Arizona State Teachers College (Arizona State University) on June 19, 1941, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.
Elsie married George Earl Reed on June 19, 1940. Mr. Reed preceded Elsie in death in August 2002. George and Elsie lived in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Ariz., where George was an insurance agent, until they moved to Prescott in 1984.
Elsie leaves her three daughters, Janice Bunch of Phoenix, Joan Pierce (Mrs. Steve Pierce) of Prescott, and Judi Frerichs (Mrs. Bill Frerichs) of San Antonio, Texas. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Tyler, Nelson, Steve, Lindy, Reed, Holly, Heather, John and Mark: and 10 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rowan, Walker, Grace, Cate, Marley, Rhett, Mason, Hana and Layne.
A private family funeral will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mausoleum in Phoenix, Ariz. The family asks that any donations or memorials be made to The Lucille Packard Children's Hospital in memory of Hazel Anderson, 725 Welsh Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304, or to The Margaret T. Morris Center, 878 Sunset Ave., Prescott, AZ 86305.
