ELLIS, Gilbert M. (Gib)

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, November 30, 2010 Gilbert M. "Gib" Ellis, 82, of Page, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. Mr. Ellis was born April 15, 1928, in Keenes, Ill. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 428, and Elks Lodge No. 2498. He was an avid fisherman and a Suns and Diamondbacks fan. Mr. Ellis is survived by his daughters, Roxanna Alderman of Phoenix and Kathey Kirk of Page; sons Gilbert D. Ellis (Cinday) of Glendale, Robert Painter of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and Johnny Painter (Marsha) of Page; sisters Patricia M. Scott of Watson, Ill., and Gloria G. Brown of Flora, Ill.; brothers Harold L. Ellis (Regina) of Phoenix; Arthur C. Ellis Jr. of Creve Coeur, Ill., Darrell W. Ellis of Peoria, Ill., and James W. Ellis of New Paris, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Murl Ellis; father Arthur C. Ellis; mother Mamie B. Ellis; stepmother Evelyn C. Ellis; sister Mary L. Donahue; brother Robert Hutchcraft; son-in-law Tommy Kirk; and one great-grandson. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at PERA Club in Page. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Elks Lodge or a local hospice. Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, Utah, is handling arrangements.
