David Roy North, loving husband, father, and “pappa” passed away at his home with close family Nov. 24, 2010. David was born March 12, 1942 in Globe, Ariz.
David was a lasting member of the LDS church, an honorable U.S. Army Veteran, and a long-time volunteer member of the Gila County Rescue Squad and Tri-City Fire Department. He retired from the Pinto Valley Mines and most recently worked as a Gila County Sheriff’s Office Range Deputy. David was ultimately devoted to his family and an avid outdoor enthusiast. His friendship, patience, leadership, and moral examples will be missed by all those who know him.
David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sallie North; his children, David and Melissa North, Kelly Chandler and Ben Parker, Darin and Stacy North, and Tiffany and Jacob Leverance; and his brother Bill McDaniel. He has 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
David’s close family has asked that no flowers be sent, rather a donation may be made to our local hospice care center or a church of your choice.
Services for David North will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Claypool at 11a.m.
