She was born July 7,1929, in St. Johns to Joseph Henry and Hazel Butler as a third generation Arizonan. She grew up in the White Mountains as a true Arizona pioneer. Despite suffering from multiple sclerosis for 45 years, it never seemed to dampen her incredible sense of humor or ability to make the world's best strawberry jam. She was greeted into heaven by Wes, her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, and her youngest son, Randy Jo, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Wesley G. of Maricopa and Gary (Sherri) of Chino Valley, and daughter Sheila Gaither of Yuma. She enjoyed her eight grandchildren, Jamie, Stacey, Amanda, Jake, Laura, Terrin, Brittany and Jason, and her six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mareen Hansen of Lakeside. She will be dearly missed by loved ones and friends, but they find peace in knowing that she is finally out of pain and reunited with her love. She will be remembered for her great strength and love of her husband and family. Family and Hospice of Yuma cared her for. A graveside service will be held at the Buckeye cemetery Friday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 a.m. Buckeye Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
