The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 16, 2008 Marian Elizabeth Dush, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at her daughter's home in Tucson. Marian was born June 25, 1924, in Luthersburg, Pa., to Emery and Mosseline (Woods) Miles. She had lived in Arizona for 41 years. She was married to Edward (Ted) Dush July 27, 1944, and was a wife and homemaker all her life. She and Ted moved to Cedar Hills in 1979. She was involved in many organizations and clubs, including Cedar Hills POA, Navajo County Elections Poll Worker and the Navajo County Senior Auxiliary Volunteers. Marian and Ted also volunteered with the community food bank. Marian was known for her sourdough bread for which she was nicknamed "Sourdough Mama." She enjoyed her crafts and each Christmas would make all her grand- and great-grandchildren a Christmas ornament. In later years this had grown to well over 50. Her love and faith in the Lord always carried her through the good times and the bad. Often saying "Give it to the Lord," Marian is with the Good Lord now and is loved and will be missed by many. Survivors include a daughter, Judith (Bill) Bellini of Tucson; two sons, James (Tracy) Dush of Philipsburg, Pa., and Bruce (Denise) Dush of Show Low; daughter-in-law Patti (Rick) Dush of Snowflake; two sisters, Ruth (Edward) McCauslin of Rockton, Pa., and Rita (Bob) Canan of Dubois, Pa.; two brothers, James (Nancy) Miles of Luthersburg, Pa., and Emery (Ruth) Miles of Winterhaven, Fla.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward (Ted) Dush; her parents, Emery and Mosseline Miles; son Richard Dush; two grandsons, James E. (Jamie) Dush Jr. and Jeremy Dush; great-grandson Richard Bellini. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Valley View Baptist Church in Snowflake.
