HAMMON, Florence W.

Florence W. Hammon, died Thursday, January 8, 2004 in Mesa, AZ following a brief illness at the age of 84. She was born in Rome, NY to the late Charles & Catherine (Carlile) Wilcox. She married Charles M. Hammon and he later died in 1967. She then married Howard K. Hammon and in 1972 moved to Arizona. He died in 2003. Florence worked as an attendant at the Rome State School in New York where she retired in 1970. In her younger years, she was an active bowler and member of the Stanwix Heights Fire Department Auxiliary. Florence is survived by her son, Richard A. Hammon (Susan); daughter, Sharon Ingersoll (Duane); brothers: John Corbin (Carol), James Corbin (Betty Hoderine); 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Henderson in 1970. A Memorial service was Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004 at the Duane and Sharon Ingersoll residence in Chandler.
