ANDERSON, Martin L.

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, December 1, 2010 Martin L. Anderson (Marty) passed away in La Jolla, Calif. on Nov. 22, 2010, due to complications from colon cancer surgery. He was born in Bridgeport, Neb., and raised in Southern California, living in San Gabriel then La Habra, Santa Monica and Malibu. Marty was a Lake Havasu City resident for over 30 years. Vacationing here and on the river all of his life. Marty and his wife Lola moved to Lake Havasu City from Malibu, Calif. when they "retired” from owning and operating a very successful stained glass window business, providing custom designs to many celebrities and Malibu residents. They opened and operated Lola’s Gift Closet at the London Bridge Mall, a unique gift store. Marty then obtained his real estate broker's license and began selling residential real estate, presently with Selman and Associates, a 30 year career in real estate maintaining his top producer status. Marty knew everyone in this town and most knew him. A real "character" is the common thread when describing him. He was a fun loving guy who loved this lake and the people who live here. He was a member of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club, Elks Club and a supporter of the Humane Society. His bride of 37 years, Lola, passed away in December 2005, a piece of him went with her then. He is survived by his two daughters, Jodi Anderson, Lori and husband, Ed Stein; three grandchildren, Erik and wife Robin Gonzales, Aaron and Sarah Stein; brother and sister; one beautiful great granddaughter, Sailor Gonzales; one stepson, Gary Pratt; and step grandson, Bond Pratt and family. Marty and his adventures will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Memorial services will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Bunker, Lake Havasu City, reception to follow at his home, 4085 Black Hill Bay. All are welcome.
