The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 25, 2008 Mary Glynn Holder Hodges, 77, of Show Low early Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 17, 1931, in Archer City, Texas. On Dec. 20, 1949, in Weatherford, Texas, she married Perry L. Hodges, who preceded her in death. Mary and Perry were active members of the Gideon's since the early 1970s and founding members of Shiloh Baptist Church. Following the death of her beloved husband, Mary was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for 12 years where she served as deaconess and teacher. Mary made her home in Show Low for the past 27 years where she owned the Thunderbird Motel. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Ann Gould of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Terry Lynn Skillin of Show Low; two sisters and five brothers, Pat Savage of Weatherford, Texas, LaRae Linville of Everman, Texas, Jerry Holder and Jimmy Holder, both of Weatherford, Texas, and Sonny Holder of Eliasville, Texas; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideon's. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Show Low with a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Owens-Livingston Mortuary, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery immediately following services. Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
