MUNCH, James M.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 28, 2008 James M. Munch died Aug. 21, 2008, in Scottsdale. He was born April 19, 1959, in Chicago, Ill. Those who knew Jim loved him for his strong devotion and love for his children, his amusing sense of humor and his eagerness to help those around him. Unlike most of us, Jim always enjoyed helping his family with their yearly tax preparation. In 1989, Jim was encouraged by his wife to go to a H&R Block tax class. Since then, Jim enjoyed a satisfying career with H&R Block for 19 years doing what he enjoyed most. He was an avid Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and overall sports fan. He spent quality time with his children watching games and sharing his love for the games with them. Jim is survived by his four loving children, Yvonne, Michael, Greg and David of Lakeside; his mother, Rita; his siblings, Joe, Rita, John and Bill. He is also survived by a large extended family, coworkers, clients and several good friends. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Munch. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 7655 E. Main St. (Miller Road and Main Street), Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if a donation was made to Cancer Research and/or Hospice of Arizona in memory of James M. Munch.
