The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 4, 2008 Jeri Lou McGuire Fritz died Aug. 31, 2008, in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Loveless Hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1952, in Dayton Ohio. Jeri was "my sister" and friend. She held a love for the White Mountains that grew day by day. She had a reverence for life and lived each day with the wonders that it brought. Jeri would help anyone who needed assistance. She tended bar at The Little Bit and Bill's Bar. She moved with her family when they were requested by his employer. She always said the mountains were her home. She loved Show Low and the White Mountains and would tell anyone who asked that Show Low was her home. She attended schools in Tucson where she graduated from Catalina High School in 1972. She was an avid reader of Native American history and art. She tried to instill in others the values and responsibilities that come with living on this earth and to teach others through example how to protect this land without protest. She would say: "You don't need an organization to pick up trash or to do what is right." She was a friend and sister. She is survived by John McGuire; children Shanna Morey, Jimmy, Steven and BJ; numerous grandkids; sisters Pat Wood, Sue Fritz, Darlene Fritz, Coney Roflow, Janice Roflow and Brenda Roflow. Arrangements were held in Albuquerque, N.M.
