Bonnie Shannon, 87, of Show Low died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of George and Beulah (Shivelay) Blue.
She was raised in Fort Wayne and graduated from North High School there. She married James Robert Shannon on Sept. 5, 1941, in Fort Wayne. They had lived in Tucson for many years and had a second home in Vernon since the 1960s. They retired and moved to the White Mountains permanently in 1975. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Show Low and the White Mountain Women's Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Shannon of Tucson; two sons, Richard Shannon of Show Low and Michael Shannon of Florence, Ore.; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, her parents and sister Helen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19, at Vernon Community Church. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.
