STABB, Hank (Camillus)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 21, 2008 Hank "Camillus" Stabb, 89, of Concho died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Bannon Springs Ranch. Mr. Stabb was born Feb. 21, 1919, in West Leyden, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Mary (Saamer) Stabb. He was raised and attended school in West Leyden. He entered the U.S. Army, serving in Africa and Italy during World War II. He was married to Louise Lanterman June 11, 1945, at Smoky Hill AFB in Salina, Kansas. He came to Arizona 31 years ago after his retirement as owner of New London Food Mart in New London, N.Y. He moved to Concho in 1985. He enjoyed motorcycle rebuilding and Hon-Dah Casino. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Little of Gilbert and Marilyn Tesak of Utica, N.Y.; six sons, Bernard Stabb of New York, Charles Stabb-Torturica of St. Johns, Wayne Ritz, Mike Drew and Robert Kirley, all of Concho and James Kirley of California; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 25, at Black's Mortuary Chapel in Show Low. Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
