Mary Delores Pafford, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on September 5, 2010. Born in 1926 to the Basque family of Michel and Luisa Ohaco in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Dolly grew up in Wickenburg and attended St Mary's High School in Phoenix where she was recognized as Athlete of the Year and graduated in 1944. Dolly attended the University of Arizona and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
After college, she became a flight attendant with American Airlines. She married Dr. Ernie M. Pafford in 1957. Dolly was a member of the Junior League of Phoenix from 1963-1990, serving as Chairwoman of the Phoenix Symphony Ball and the annual rummage sale and held other leadership positions.
Dolly worked tirelessly for over 40 years as office manager in her husband's dental practice and later in her son's.
Dolly is survived by her two sons, Dr. Greg Pafford, DDS and Kent Pafford, grandchildren Ryan Pafford, Rhiannon Pafford and Jake Pafford, sister Vi Anderson, daughters-in-law Tracy Holter and Monique Pafford, and several other treasured extended family members. Dolly was devoted to her family, loved sports and was always interested in others.
Services to celebrate her vibrant and full life will be held at Brophy Chapel on Saturday, September 18 with a Rosary at 12:30pm and Funeral Service at 1pm.
A reception will immediately follow at Phoenix Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Metropolitan Phoenix Boys and Girls Club or the Arizona Dental Foundation.
