Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, December 07, 2010 L. Arlene Powles, 72, of Grand Canyon Caverns, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, in Williams. She was born to George E. and Lily E. Swenson in Longmont, Colo. She was a wife and mother, secretary, waitress, bookkeeper and clerk. Mrs. Powles is survived by her husband, Leslie A. Powles of Grand Canyon Caverns; four daughters, Brenda L. Laney of Wickenburg, Diane C. Wright of Williams, L. Rene Miller of San Diego, Calif., and Mary Alice Scott of Gilbert; two sons, Larry A. Powles of Laramie, Wyo., and Claude C. Duncan of Topeka, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George E. and Lily E. Swenson.
