Clarence E. “Corky” McCorkendale, age 70, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center in Globe. He was born on June 11, 1940, in Camden, Mo., the son of Arvel and Eva McCorkendale. He had resided in Arizona for the past 35 years, the last 10 in Globe.
Clarence graduated from Orrick High School, class of 1959. Corky was a machinist for many years and, in 1989, he began a bicycle business, East Valley Bicycle and Mobile Repair. He liked anything with wheels or wings. In 1990 he began flying powered parachutes, a hobby which he enjoyed for 20 years. Corky loved the Lord, his family, his friends and his dogs. Corky will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Blood in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara; his brothers, Charles, Robert and Gary McCorkendale; his children, Jabin McCorkendale, Cyrena (McCorkendale) Rush, Jeff Parker, Anita (Parker) Willis and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Clarence E. McCorkendale were held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland St., Globe, Ariz.
Final resting place is Globe Cemetery, Hackney Avenue, Globe, Ariz.
