BOBBITT, Delwin (Bob)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 28, 2008 Delwin "Bob" Bobbitt, 70, of White Mountain Lake Resort died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. Son of Raymond and Gertrude (Kroenke) Bobbitt, Delwin Eugene Bobbitt was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Fairland, Okla. He grew up in Madill and graduated from Mill Creek High School. After graduation he moved his family to Guymon, Okla., where he owned and operated Guymon Ready Mix until 1976. Delwin then made his home in Idaho where he was involved in the logging industry. He built his log cabin and lived there for twenty years before moving to White Mountain Lake Resort, where he made his home for the past 10 years. Delwin was a fine carpenter, cabinet maker and a master in concrete construction. Hunting, fishing and camping were his passion. He and his life-long high school chum of 50 years, Charles Long, made annual hunting, fishing and camping trips. Delwin came to know the Lord and is now rejoicing in Heaven. Delwin was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Bobbitt. He leaves behind a son and daughter in law, Kevin and Mary Bobbitt; daughter Lana James, all of Guymon, Okla.; his mother, Gertrude Bobbitt of Madill, Okla.; sister Verna and husband George Alford of Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Charles and wife Glenda Bobbitt of Madill, Okla. and Larry Bobbitt of Tishimingo, Okla.; three grandchildren, Misty, Amber and Tanner; numerous nephews, nieces and friends, including special friend Charles Long of Chesapeake, Va. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, at Black's Mortuary Chapel of Show Low. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, Okla.
