Albert J. “Abbie” Englert Jr., of Lake Havasu City, formerly of Columbia, Pa., died Dec. 2, 2010, at his home after an illness of three and a half years. He was born in Allentown, Pa., Nov. 14, 1927, to the late William F. and Florence Liseman Englert Sr.
He married his beloved bride, Elaine A. (Hess) Englert, Dec. 31, 63 years ago. Abbie was self employed, owner of the Sound Bank Inc. store, of Lake Havasu City, and formerly of Englert’s Garage, of Columbia, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
Besides his wife, he will be much loved and missed by his six sons, Albert J. “Abbie” Jr. and his wife, Annie, of Lake Havasu City, Gerald “Jerry” R., of Colorado, Michael “Mike” W., of North Carolina, Douglas “Doug” C. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Kingman, R. “Keith” and wife, Kim, of Lake Havasu City, and David L., of San Diego, Calif. He was one of six; sister, Marian; brother, Thomas and his wife, Betty; 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 13 step great grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, William “Bill” Jr., Robert and Ralph, all of Pennsylvania.
He was a very loving husband and father. Abbie enjoyed working in the yard and walking and was a very generous person.
