Frank B. Gerola, 77, of Mesa died in the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low with his loving wife at his side. Frank was born July 25, 1931, in the old, historic, mining town of Jerome to the late Francisco Antonio and Lucy (Romero) Gerola.
He has lived in Arizona his entire life and was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. Throughout his life he worked as a machinist and welder in Arizona's famous copper mines.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Baeza Gerola of Mesa, and their children and grandchildren.
The recitation of the rosary will be 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 490 W. Main Street in Superior. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Superior's Fairview Cemetery.
Local arrangements are being cared for by Owens Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel.
