EVERETT, Carl Wilbur

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ June 19, 2008 Carl Wilbur Everett, 66, was taken into the Lord's arms June 14, 2008. "A man taken away too soon but not soon forgotten." Carl was born in Springfield, Ohio, July 19, 1941, the second of six children born to Grove and Ruth Everett. At the age of 20, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Scotland where he met his one and only true love, Esther McAlpine. They married Sept. 28, 1963, and have three wonderful daughters, Michelle, Marlene and Angela. The word gracious doesn't even begin to describe Carl; he would put everybody above himself no matter the circumstance. He had the gift to befriend anybody and even in his last few days, he was still touching people's hearts. In a time of need he would try with all his might to make things better and make everyone happy. Carl's sparkle in his eyes and generosity to all things will never be lost. Whomever was touched by this humble man is one of the honored. Carl was very athletic and outgoing and wouldn't let anything bring down his high spirits. Now he is pain free and has no worries. "He is gone but not forgotten and will be forever in our hearts as we were in his." His family wishes to acknowledge Hospice of the Valley in East Mesa for their kind care. He is survived by his wife, Esther, and their daughters and families. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the Valley.
