SMITH, Steven Ray

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ June 23, 2008 Steven Ray Smith, 56, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at his home in St. Johns. He was born Feb. 11, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, to Earl Faye Smith and Bernice B. Bush. Steven served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an iron worker and welder for Rapistan Demag. Steven was a gentle, loving, caring person. He was a great father and husband. He worked hard all his life from the time he was 15 years old. He will now join family that has already passed. He will be missed. Steven is survived by his wife, Evelyn D. Smith of St. Johns; sons C.J. Phillip Earl Smith of Ohio, Richard Ray Smith of South Carolina and Jesse Dallas Smith of Arizona; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Evelyn Rae Smith, and his parents. There are no services scheduled at this time. Burnham Mortuary of St. Johns handled arrangements.
