The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 10, 2008 In precious memory of the late Van Manuel, reunited with our heavenly Father. He died June 8, 2008, in Carrizo. He was born Feb. 23, 1943, in Carrizo. Van is survived by his wife, Ida Manuel; daughter Vangie Manuel; sons Virgil Manuel, Dino Manuel, Joe Bennett, Delbert Childs Jr. and Diego Manuel; brothers Marvin Kessay and Rex Pinal Sr.; sisters Ramona Martinez, Tree-Saw Pinal, Elvira Standing and Dudra Pinal; aunts Irene Murphy and Rose Lupe; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson Elijah Danford; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie Pinal; father Victor Manuel; sister Dorothy Palmer; and brother Glen Manuel. Van's body will be brought home for a one-night wake at his residence (C-20 Carrizo Drive) in Carrizo Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. A home service will be conducted Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m. with Brother Manuel Goode officiating. Interment will be at the family plot in Carrizo. Silver Creek Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
