Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory Wickenburg, Arizona Betty Lou Snyder (May 27, 1928 - December 10, 2010) Betty Lou Snyder, age 82, passed away December 10, 2010 at her home in Wickenburg. She was born May 27, 1928 in Mound City, Kansas to Harry O'Conner and Daisey Daniels O'Conner. Betty was raised in Sacramento, California and graduated from high school there. She met James Curtis while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They married and following James' millitary service they both attended Sacramento City College. They later moved to Des Moines, Iowa where Jim attended school at Drake University and Betty supported him. Upon completion of his schooling Jim became an actuary and took employment with the firm of Milliman and Robertson in Seattle, Washington. It was during this time that they adopted their children David and Rachel. Betty devoted her time to being a mother and homemaker. She was an avid golfer and a member of and former president of the Ladies division of the Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle. They came to Arizona in 1982 settling in Scottsdale where Betty was an active member of the Pinnacle Peak Gold Club. This is where she eventually met her second husband Alex Snyder. She and Alex moved to Wickenburg in 2000. Most important in Betty's life was her family and being a mother and grandmother. She loved her animals and the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. She will also be missed by her two dogs Abbey and Daisy. Betty was preceded in death by her first husband James Curtis in 2008 and her second husband Alex Snyder in 2004. She is survived by her children: David Curtis (Josie) of Houston, Texas and Rachel Cox (Gary) of Pullman, Washington, Granddaughters: Jennifer Oney (Jason), Melody Myers (Zane), Bailey Cox, Erin Cox and Isabella Sun and 1 great-grandson Talon .
