The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 22, 2008 Claudia H. Downs, 78, died April 15, 2008, after a long period of health problems. She was born in Midland, Mich., July 17, 1929. She resided in Eagar for the last 20 years and was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Downs Sr. She leaves behind two daughters, Lilli Alcorn and Casey Downs, both of Eagar; son James E. Downs Jr. of Lakeside; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also two little dogs that had been her constant companions, Ditto and Chuee. Mrs. Downs was cremated by Messinger Payson Funeral Home in Payson. Per her request, there will be no services.
