EDDY, Cletus (Mac)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 26, 2008 Cletus "Mac" Eddy, 83, of Lakeside died May 21, 2008, at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West. Mac was born to Elbert and Ester Eddy Oct. 13, 1924, in Liberty Center, Ohio. He grew up there and was a veteran of World War II in the Army Aircorps. When he returned from the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Mary Hoffer, on June 30, 1947. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage until she passed away in 1997. He spent 16 years as a journeyman electric lineman at Buckeye Rural Electric in Gallipolis, Ohio. He then moved his family to Window Rock where he was general manager for the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority for nine years. He then spent four years working for the Navajo Tribe. In 1976 he accepted a position as general manager for Navopache Electric Co-op in Lakeside. He retired from Navopache in 1990. He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Larry) Nelson of Burbank. Calif.; son Robert E. (Diane) Eddy of Simsbury, Conn.; granddaughter Sheri (Brant) England and great-grandchildren Katelyn and Cody Follansbee and Jacob England of Lakeside. He is also survived by his companion for the last nine years, Norma Laity of Sun City West. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at Owens Mortuary, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low. Burial services will take place in Liberty Center, Ohio, at a later date.
