MAHAN, Patrick C., Sr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ June 19, 2008 Patrick C. Mahan Sr., 58, of Show Low died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his home of natural causes. Patrick, the son of late Show Low residents Lutie "Lucky" and Frances "Skeeter" Mahan. He was born Nov. 14, 1949, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. He graduated from Milltown High School, Milltown, Ind., in 1968, and soon thereafter married Linda Howell of Milltown. They were blessed with three children, Chuck, Brad and Angie. Patrick worked in power line construction for almost 20 years as a foreman, at one point spending about two years with his family, parents and siblings on the island of Java in Indonesia. He was employed by the Show Low Wal-Mart at the time of his death. Patrick settled his family in Show Low because he loved hunting, fishing and the vast expanses of sky, mountains and clean air found in the White Mountains. He was immensely devoted to his family, dedicating the last 15 years of his life to insure his late mother, Frances, was comforted in her final years. His life consisted of unwavering sacrifice and love for his family. He is survived by his former wife, Linda; their three children, Chuck, Brad and Angie; three grandchildren, Ashley, Sam and Madison; two sisters, Renee "Susie" (Darrel) Hansen and Gretchen "Dee" (William) Brady of Show Low; brother John "Mike" Mahan of Lizard Lick, N.C.; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m, Saturday, June 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Show Low Stake Center with Elder William Brady officiating.
