Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona January 29, 1987, page 17 Services for Mac Allen Emerson were conducted last Wednesday morning, at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Emerson died suddenly one Jan 16. He moved to Wickenburg in November 1967 following his retirement from the National Weather Service. A recipient of the Department of Commerce Silver Medal of Award for meritorious Service, Emerson began his career in 1927. He served in St. Paul, Minn.; Chicago and Anchorage, Alaska. When he retired in December 1966, he had been stationed in Anchorage for 22 years and had served as regional director of the Alaskan Region for the last eight of those years. Emerson was an active member and past president of the Wickenburg sportsmen’s Club and was particularly interested in trap shooting activities. Born in Olivet, Mich. on May 14, 1906, Emerson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie E., of Wickenburg; three daughters, Jeannine Johnson, of Asherville, N.C. Margaret Knappen, of Salinas, Calif., and JoAnn McAlduff, of Wickenburg; 11 grandchildren and one brother, Harley C. Emerson, of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.
