Verna Belle Dobbins, 85, of Wickenburg, died March 13, in the Wickenburg Nursing Home.
She was born June 11, 1901 in Alamosa, Colo. She has been a resident of Arizona since 1958.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Chesney, of Graig, Colo. and Verna Whitmore, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; two sisters, Mamie Potts, of Phoenix and Wilda Wallace, of Black Canyon City; five grandsons and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dobbins, in 1985.
Dobbins obtained her teaching degree from Western State College, Gunnison, Colo., and held teaching positions in the Montrose, Colo. School system. Both Dobbins and her husband were active in the First Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and Masonic activities in the Wickenburg Community.
Memorial services were March 17 at the First Presbyterian Church, Pastor Bruce McQueen officiating.
Arrangements were made by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
