Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona April 16, 1987, page 8 James Francis Deck, 85, of Wickenburg and Congress, died April 11 in the Wickenburg Community Hospital. He is survived by two daughters, Dolly Ellenson, of San Luis Obispo, Calif. and Diane Pierce, of Mitchell, Ore.; one son, Jimmy Johnson, or Watsonville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews and four sisters. Deck was employed by Braytons General Store for many years through the 1920s and 1930s and was later a miner in Congress and Wickenburg at the Octave and Vanadium mines. Deck was one of Wickenburg’s longest residents, moving from Texas in 1920. Services were April 15 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Arrangements were made by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
