Arthur William Rubash, 68, of Wickenburg, died May 9 at his home.
He was born February 11, 1919 at Dow, Oklahoma. He has been a resident of Arizona for 51 years.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Babe) Rubash of Wickenburg; three sons, Billy Rubash of Glendale, Bobby Rubash and Jimmy Rubash, both of Wickenburg; two daughters, Wilma Burnham of Woodland Park, Colorado and Myrna Wyse of Archbold, Ohio; four brothers, Grover Rubash of Wickenburg, Anthon Rubash of Bakersville, California, James Rubash of Pismo Beach, California and Danny Rubash of Bagdad, Arizona; five sisters, Ethel Mornoe of Dow, Oklahoma, Ruby McLaughlin of Phoenix, Helen Carter of Kingman, Arizona, Phyllis Onstott and Dorla Onstott both of Overgaard, Arizona, ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rubash served in the U.S. army during WWII. He moved to Octave, Arizona in 1936 where he was employed in the Octave and Maganese mines. He was owner/operator of the Antlers Bar for 15 years and managed the American Legion for several years. Rubash had been self-employed the past 16 years as a cotton harvester and in construction until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Kellis Draper Post No. 12 and a charter member of B.P.O.E. Lodge.
Services were May 13 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Dr. A. B. Follmar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wickenburg Community Hospital.
Arrangements were made by the Wickenburg Funeral home.
