Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 18 1987, page 2 Memorial services were held June 16 in Phoenix for Lester M. Dodd, 85, a longtime Castle Hot Springs rancher. Mr. Dodd died June 13 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix of natural causes. He was born June 2, 1902 in Illinois, and came to Arizona in 1944 from California. He was president of the Champie School District Board of Education; was associated editor for California Farmer newsletter for 15 years; a member of the Madera, Calif., Future Farmers of America; and in association with Walter Peke was involved in ranching and was responsible for the initial development of Aspen, Colo. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite; one daughter, Carol Thomas; two sons, Dale and Eric Dodd; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
