Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 2, 1987, page 2-A Services conducted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are scheduled today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. at the Congress Cemetery for Lars M. “Swede” Johnson, 74, of Congress. Bishop Mike Underwood will officiate. Mr. Johnson died June 29 in Wickenburg. He was born April 7, 1913 in Tombstone. He was a member of the LDS Church of Wickenburg and a second-generation Arizonan. He was a lifetime member of Labors Local No. 383 of Phoenix. Johnson and his wife, Rachel, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August, 1986. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lars M. Johnson of Rio Rico and Jerry Johnson of Snowflake; two brother, Joe Johnson of Wickenburg and Seth Johnson of California; two sisters, Grace Savage of Bouse and Urlinda Sorensen of Mesa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
