DIESSNER, Michael F. (Mick)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, AZ Michael (Mick) F. Diessner of Scottsdale, age 58, passed away September 30, 2010. Mick was born January 30, 1952 in Burwell, Nebraska, the only son of Mike and Wanda Diessner. Mick was a precocious and determined child and became an Eagle Scout in the 8th grade. He graduated from Creighton University Law College, Omaha, NE in 1977 and went on to earn his advanced degree in tax law from New York University in 1978. Immediately upon graduation Mick moved to Phoenix and went to work at Burch and Cracciolo. Dan Cracciolo became a cherished lifelong friend and confidant. Later Mick became a principal in the investment firm of Ernst and Diessner and eventually established his own real estate development and investment firm, M.F. Diessner and Co. Mick had a brilliant and inquisitive mind; in addition to his vast knowledge of history and politics he was also the President of the Arizona Wine and Food Society and shared this passion with his very dearest friend, Jock Wulffson, for many years. In 2002 Mick married his wife Robin Browning and they lived in Scottsdale. Survivors include his parents Mike and Wanda Diessner of Sun City West, his wife Robin, step-daughter Gillian Elcox and beloved granddaughter Lily Cash, his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Keith Peck, and nephew Ryan all of Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Mick's memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mick's memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the Harvest Bible Chapel, 4848 E. Cactus Road, Scottsdale, AZ.
