Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Wednesday, December 22, 2010 Emma Roberts Taylor, age 101, died in her sleep early on Dec. 18, 2010. Taylor's clan is Tl'aashchi'I (Left hand people), and was born for Todich'ii'nii (BitterWater) with maternal grandfather Ta'neeszahnii (Tangle Clan) and paternal grandfather Tl'izi lani (Manygoats). Our beloved Grandma Taylor lived an abundant life. She was a very sweet, calm and timid in character that possessed great strength in leadership for her family. As a young woman, her livelihood was of herding sheep, weaving rugs and being a homemaker. Beyond all this, she was a very faithful and spiritual Christian in her community of Seba Dalkai. She leaves behind her daughter, Maye E. (Kee Bahe) Dick and her son, Tommie (Ella) Curtis Sr. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, which includes her 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great children and many more who called her, "Grandma Taylor." She is preceded in death by her children, Helen Nopah and Johnnie Taylor; her sisters, Mrs. Tom Joe, Mary Biggambler, Mary Charley, Sybil Manybeads, Hope Attakai; her brother, William Roberts; and several grandchildren. A funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Maranatha Assembly of God Church in Winslow. Burial will be in Desert View Cemetery.
