Bernard Louie Howard, III, 71, of Mayer, Ariz., born April 16, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Mich. to Bernard L. Howard and Edna Mae, passed away Dec. 11, 2010, at YRMC in Prescott, Ariz.

Bernard met his wife Erika while serving in the Army in West Germany. He was a wonderful husband to Erika and an incredible father to his girls. "He will forever be in our hearts and in our thoughts."

Survivors include his wife Erika; daughters, Diane, Judy, Sandra and Sharron; six grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Food Bank or Yavapai County Food Bank in Prescott.
