STANDLEY, George Joseph

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 18, 2010 George Joseph Standley George went to be with God and other family members on Dec. 11, 2010. Although he will be very much missed by his family and friends, he is at peace and in a better place. He was born on May 28, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to Albert and Edna Standley. George had a passion for flying, old cars, traveling and, above all, helping others. He worked 29 years for AiResearch and retired in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol; daughter Cindy Doll of Polson, Mont.; son William Standley of Oahu, Hawaii; daughter Lynne O'Brien (Larry); son Bud Standley of California; grandson Eric Standley of Danbury, Conn.; granddaughters Joy Standley and Heather Standley of Phoenix; three sisters in Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan. George requested no services, but those who wish may send a memorial gift to the wonderful people at the Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305-7617.
